Upon meeting Bishop Spong you get a sense
of his gentleness and love for mankind. He is genuine in his desire to
assist people in their understanding of Christianity from a historical
perspective. Like many people, he no longer believes or supports the
idea that humans are inherently sinful evil creatures that need to be
saved. Nor does he support the Biblical idea of a chosen people.
Instead, he teaches that all souls are beloved children of God.
Bishop Spong's message on Sunday was
that the mission of Jesus of Nazareth was to show that to truly
understand what it means to be human, you must love your enemies and ask
for those who trespass against you to be blessed - in essence offer
unconditional love to each and every soul you encounter. As human beings
we do not need to raise ourselves up by bringing another down. Bishop
Spong related that Jesus showed this by example.
We support the mission of Bishop Spong.
We believe that he is doing much good in helping souls in their
understanding of what it means to be human. It is a first step in
introducing people to the truth concerning Jesus' mission on earth - the
New Birth of your soul through the reception of
God's Divine Love. |
